Porterfield Carbon Kevlar R4-1 Racing Brake Pad:  AP 279 R4-1 

Porterfield R4-1 Carbon Kevlar Racing Brake Pads were developed and tested in the Vintage Racing community. Because of the high coefficient of friction (?) at low temperatures, these are fast becoming the Autocross brake pad of choice. A peak ? of .600 the R4-1 pad can reach close to ? of .500 at temperatures as low as 200?F. The R4-1 brake pads are widely used on Vintage GT and Formula car where pad temps are under 600?F and peak temps are below 1,000?F. This is also a good Rally-Cross brake pad.

Typical AP 279 R4-1 applications are BMW 325, 325E, 325ES, E30 318i, 318iS, 325i (Spec E30), 325iS and 325iX. E28 M5, 524TD, 528E, 533i, 535i and 535iS. E24 M6, 633CSi and 635CSi. E23 733i and 735i. L6..
