Porterfield Carbon Kevlar R4-1 Racing Brake Pad:  AP 917 R4-1 

Porterfield R4-1 Carbon Kevlar Racing Brake Pads were developed and tested in the Vintage Racing community. Because of the high coefficient of friction (?) at low temperatures, these are fast becoming the Autocross brake pad of choice. A peak ? of .600 the R4-1 pad can reach close to ? of .500 at temperatures as low as 200?F. The R4-1 brake pads are widely used on Vintage GT and Formula car where pad temps are under 600?F and peak temps are below 1,000?F. This is also a good Rally-Cross brake pad.

Typical AP 917 R4-1 applications are (996) & (997) 911 Carrera 2, Carrera 2 Turbo Look and (997) Carrera 2S. (996) 911 Carrera 4, Targa 4, Carrera 4 Turbo Look, 4S, Targa 4S and Turbo. (986) Boxster S, (987) Boxster S, (987C) Cayman Coupe S front brakes..
